About the Mary K Hotel

The Mary K Hotel is not just about laying your head down for a good night sleep. She offers you a unique experience in which comfort and culture blend together perfectly.

Starting off with a solid base of Corporate Social Responsibility, we put in some big chunks of family feel and a pinch of cheekiness. The result: a recipe well worth trying. We hope to welcome you in September 2011 with a healthy appetite for inspiring encounters and wonderful dreams.

Who says comfort can’t be edgy and rock&roll can’t be sophisticated? The Mary K Hotel accommodates nine rooms of various themes and sizes. A lobby where you can enjoy your breakfast, read a book and put your feet up. A cafe/meeting room where during the day business-people will close deals and in the evening guests, neighbors and townspeople will toast to life. The interior was designed in collaboration with Utrecht based artists. This, together with the cultural activities the city has to offer and the local products Mary K provides, will pleasantly immerse you in ‘Utrecht’ and make you keep this city close to your heart forever.

The hotel is situated in a 18th century canal house on the well known ‘Oudegracht’ in downtown Utrecht. The transformation of this property into a luxury hotel required a lot of work. During the development and renovation process, we have sourced our materials and equipment carefully. Our commitment to minimum waste and sustainability is very important to us, and a key part of our operations from development projects, to furniture and accommodation, staff policy, catering and guest communication.

Although Mary K offers you the comforts of a luxury hotel, we aim for the atmosphere to be laid-back, friendly and personal. More like staying at your favorite aunty’s place. In a well arranged and comfortable household. We hope that this downtown urban retreat will make your stay in Utrecht truely memorable.

Throughout the building proces of the Mary K Hotel we kept this diary. We just opened September 2011. Read about how it was made!
